Duffey Woodcraft LLC is owned and operated by Alex Duffey.

Alex moved all across the United States while growing up, however in 2008 after graduating from college he followed his wife to her home in the Pacific NorthWest. Together they bought their first home in 2011. As a first time home owner, Alex quickly learned to be a DIYer and weekend warrior - building raised garden beds, a water fall feature and a pergola. However, Alex also seemed to be searching for his own thing. He tried to learn the piano, fly R/C airplanes, continue with his photography from college and many other hobbies. A true passion however continued to allude him.

In 2019 after moving to their current home, Alex built a live edge coffee table and matching end tables out of NW Red Cedar. Alex, who works on a computer all day as a technical analyst, quickly fell in love with building something with his hands as a refreshing contrast to the technical world we live in.

Alex continued to grow, taking on a few projects here and there, watching countless hours of YouTube tutorials and started collecting secondhand tools. In 2020 Alex bought his first wood lathe and started experimenting with turning. Many hours and a broken finger later that summer and Alex was hooked.

In 2022 Alex opened Duffey Woodcraft LLC, turning his hobby to a small business. Selling primarily on Etsy to fund his passion, Alex quickly saw a demand for his products and continued to produce them as fast as he could. By the end of 2022 Alex had started participating in local holiday markets, and his products could be found in two local gift stores, Sea Gypsy Gifts (Astoria, OR) and PopLocal in (Vancouver, Wa).

2023: Victoria, Alex’s wife has started working with Alex creating String-art wall hangings and other projects. Alex and Victoria do separate and combo pieces.

2024 & Beyond: Alex attends Workbench Con for the first time, and continues to grow locally in new retail locations and vendor markets. Alex and Victoria both look to continue to grow their passion in the coming years. We hope you will join us on this journey and together create a cherished item you and your family will enjoy for generations.
